Chevrolet Captiva Service & Repair Manual: Battery R&R

Removal

Do not tip battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
1. Disconnect battery positive and ground cable, Fig. 1.
2. Loosen nuts that fasten battery hold-down bar bracket, Fig. 1.
3. Remove battery hold-down bar bracket with nuts attached.
4. Remove battery from battery tray.

Installation

1. Install battery.
2. Install battery hold-down bar bracket and torque retaining nuts to 35 inch lbs.
3. Connect battery positive and ground cable. Torque cable clamp nuts to 89 inch lbs.
