Steering wheel controls on Chevrolet Captiva 2014 are designed to enhance driving convenience and safety by allowing the driver to manage various functions without taking their hands off the wheel. These controls typically include buttons for audio adjustments, cruise control, phone operations, and, in some models, navigation and voice commands. By integrating these functions into the steering wheel, Chevrolet aims to reduce driver distraction and maintain focus on the road.

On the left side of the steering wheel, you'll typically find controls for the cruise control system. These buttons allow the driver to set, adjust, and cancel the cruise control settings effortlessly. This is particularly useful for long highway drives, helping to maintain a consistent speed and reduce driver fatigue. On the right side, audio controls enable the driver to adjust the volume, change radio stations or tracks, and switch between different audio sources such as AM/FM radio, CD player, and Bluetooth. This setup ensures that the driver can easily manage entertainment options without needing to reach for the dashboard.

Steering wheel may have buttons dedicated to phone operations and voice commands. These controls allow the driver to answer, end, and make phone calls hands-free, provided the vehicle is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. Voice command buttons enable the driver to interact with the vehicle's infotainment system using voice prompts, allowing for navigation inputs, audio adjustments, and other functions to be managed verbally. This integration of steering wheel controls promotes a safer driving experience by minimizing distractions and enabling the driver to stay focused on the road while managing various in-car functions seamlessly.
