Chevrolet Captiva Service & Repair Manual: 2013-15 Captiva Sport
When system has calculated that
oil life has been diminished, it will indicate that an oil change is required.
A "CHANGE OIL" message will come on. Change engine oil as soon as possible
within next 600 miles. It is possible that, if driving under best conditions,
oil life may not indicate that an oil change is required for over a year.
However, engine oil and filter must be changed at least once a year and
at this time system must be reset. |
If system is ever reset accidentally,
change engine oil at 3000 miles since last oil change. |
DIC
Be careful not to reset oil life
display accidentally at any time other than after oil is changed. It cannot
be reset accurately until next oil change. |
1. |
Press Driver Information Center (DIC)
button to display "OIL LIFE REMAINING" on DIC. |
2. |
Press DIC Set/Reset button for five
seconds to reset oil life to "100%." |
|

If change engine oil light is
not on, system is reset. |

on for 30 seconds at next ignition cycle, system did not reset. Reset system
again. |

off. |
2. |
Fully press and release accelerator
